Gifts for Writers

It’s that time of year when you’re trying to find the perfect gifts for the writer in your life. Most think it wouldn’t be that hard, but my family constantly struggles with this. I get it, though. Everyone has different tastes and preferences on what they like to use. I’ll break this down into a few categories. So keep reading to find the perfect gift.

Paper

Notebooks

You can never go wrong with notebooks. But be warned…if it’s pretty, there’s a high likelihood it will sit on the shelf. Why? Because it’s too pretty to use. Here are some of my favorite notebooks.

Stalogy

The pages are thin, but I love the way they feel after they’ve been written in. It comes in various sizes, but A5 and B6 are my favorites. There are even covers you get to put over them. Moterm is great for that.

Archer & Olive

They have some of the prettiest hardbound notebooks. The covers for these are fantastic. The pages are thick and you can use their acrylograph pens on them without it bleeding through. I use these daily. One holds my writing specific tasks. I have another for my reading journal, and the last one is for my tarot journaling. I also stock on them when they are sale for gifts. You can’t go wrong with them.

Planners

This one is a little harder to pick for someone, but you can get them writer specific stickers to use in their planners. I’m a huge fan of Procrastiplanner. They have stickers for writing, goal setting, and decorative. These are stickers I use daily.

Tech

Keyboards

I love a good mechanical keyboard. There’s just something about the clacking that is music to my writing ears. This is one of my favorite ones.

Phone holders

I have this holder for when I need to do zoom calls because if I don’t do it from my phone or iPad it slows down my computer. But this one is cool because it tilts and can be raised higher or lower.

I also have one similar to this to film videos for TikTok. It can bend to whatever position you need. It makes top down videos so much easier to film.

Wearables

Compression gloves are something I use regularly. Anytime I have a day of mega writing, like 5K plus words, I use these to help ease the tension in my hands.

Cozy socks & sweaters are also great gifts. Even better if they have to do with reading.

Food

Getting the writer in your life their favorite snacks is always a good idea. I’m a big snacker when I’m writing.

I also love to have my favorite teas on hand. There are two tea shops I love buying my tea from. Tea Please and Tea & Absinthe. Tea & Absinthe has a ton of fandom flavored teas. I highly suggest any of their Doctor Who flavors. So yummy. Don’t forget the cute mugs to hold their tea!

That’s all I can think of off the top of my head. I hope this helps you with gift ideas for the writer in your life. The best gift of all of course, is your support and some quiet time to get the words on the page.
