“When is everyone supposed to get here?” Tristan is digging through our suitcase. We decided to do another beach trip, except it’s not winter this time. And…we’re not with our family. It’s the whole Whoopsie Daisy crew and some of the band members from Crooked Halo. Dale is the only one I’ve really gotten to know, the other guys are pretty shy.
“Later this afternoon, I think.” I’m lying on the bed watching TV. It was my one requirement for this trip. All the rooms needed to have one. “But they didn’t tell me what time they were leaving Asheville. So, basically, I have no idea.”
He turns around with something in his hand, and moves toward me. “We could take advantage of this time.”
“What do you have in mind?” I grin at him, waiting for his response. The house is quiet, and it’s a weird feeling because it’s huge and empty aside from us. I’m used to noise now that I’ve been hanging out with my family more.
He slows his steps, and it’s almost predatory. He holds up the square packet he pulled out of the suitcase before he rips it open with his teeth. He unbuttons his pants and pushes them down as remakes his way toward me. “I think you know what I have in mind.”
I do. I’ve already started pushing my pants down. I know undressing me is his favorite part, but I can’t wait. Who knows how much time we have?
He throws my pants off the bed and settles between my legs. His lips trail kisses along my neck before they meet mine. He feels the urgency, too.
His fingers tangle in my hair as he slides into me. Each thrust slow and steady, making the most out of this moment of solitude. It’s likely the only alone time we’ll get over the next four days.
Wrapping my legs around his waist, I pull him closer…deeper. His fingers tighten in my hair, pulling the slightest bit. Honestly, we should have come here alone. We could stay in this bed the whole time. Next time.
“Paula, I’m coming.” His whisper is gruff in my ear.
“Yes.” It’s my only response. I’m teetering on the edge of my own release.
He slams his lips into mine as his body stiffens above me. I follow soon after.
“Hello?” A voice comes from the front of the house.
Tristan jumps away from me as if my parents walking on us. “Shit. I thought you said they would be here later this afternoon.”
“It’s Emily,” I groan. “She likes to be early for everything.”
Tristan rushes to close the bedroom door. “We’ll be out in a minute!”
For a second I wonder if she heard him, but I can hear the faint laughter coming from the other room.
“Well, we know they know what we were doing.” I giggle. “It’s a good thing I don’t embarrass easily.”
“Thank God.” He grabs his pants and slips them back on. “I’m gonna get cleaned up. Do you need anything?”
I point to my pants he threw on the floor. “Those.” He tosses them on the bed and I slide them up my legs. “I’ll go clear things up.”
I stop beside him to give him a quick peck.
“I’ll see you out there in a minute.” He pulls me in for one more kiss before letting me go. “You should probably fix your hair before you go out there.”
“And miss the mortification from you? Never.”
“You’ve been hanging out with your brothers and sister too much.”
I shrug and move toward the door. “Probably. But you wouldn’t have me any other way.”
